Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police are seeking exceptional individuals, with a proven background in technical project management, who can contribute to the upgrade that the two forces need.

This is not a simple challenge; you will need to be resilient, able to handle complexity and ambiguity, and to be part of a department at the centre of both change and operations, working with committed police professionals and supporting staff.

The role

As the Technical Project Lead you will be responsible for the delivery of specific ICT technical projects within a significant Programme of Work and Programme of Change across Digital and Technology teams.

Identifying key milestones and interdependencies between work packages you will continuously and proactively seek to improve ICT technical outcomes for Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police that provide high quality and value for money.

  • Lead and manage technical resources working with design architectures to understand business needs and how best to implement technology solutions and changes in services across the changing IT landscape
  • Own and manage the agreed ICT solution delivery of assigned work packages and project plans, using industry standard project management tools and processes for the approved work packages
  • Manage vendors, suppliers and their dependencies, to ensure projects are delivered to time, schedule, quality, cost, process, performance and scope
  • Represent and promote the reputation of Warwickshire and West Mercia Police at various meetings and groups both internally and externally, including the development of appropriate and constructive relationships

About you:

You can confidently demonstrate significant experience in project, programme and portfolio management delivering highly technical solutions into complex IT environments - the scope, performance, cost control, delivery, scheduling, resourcing, risk management and demand management all resting with you.

A confident leader you build working relationships with ease managing technical teams, consisting of internal, contract and supplier staff in a large complex multi-faceted organisation, whilst your communication skills, both written and verbal are a given.

Educated to level 5 or equivalent in an ICT related discipline with Programme and Project management certification or substantial experience (e.g. Prince2, MSP) is essential.
