Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police are seeking exceptional individuals, with a proven background in technical transformation at scale, who can deliver the upgrade that the two forces need.

As the Security Architect you will be the design authority for security architecture, setting policies, design, documentation and implementation standards, ensuring all internal and external technical solutions and services meet the required security standards with effective risk management plans.

  • Maintaining up-to-date corporate knowledge of the ICT security industry, including; all national and police specific security guidance, compliance requirements
  • Provide professional advice and guidance on ICT security standards and governance requirements for internal and external management
  • Act as the ICT lead for liaison with the National Police Risk Information Management Team (NPRIMT) on all technology security matters
  • Create an environment of perpetual challenge, continuous improvement and innovation in respect of ICT Security

About you:

You have an excellent understanding of information security concepts and practices concerned with the confidentiality and integrity of information, but what really marks you out is clear ability to think strategically whilst having the hands on approach necessary.

Educated to degree level (Level 6) or equivalent in a related ICT discipline you will have one or more recognised Security Qualifications such as ISC2's Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) and/or HMG's CESG Certified Professional (CCP), or equivalent academic or professional security qualification;

With extensive knowledge of current Information Technology Standards and Techniques (including ISO 27001 series, HMG's Cloud Security Principles and Cyber Essentials); your ability to quickly assimilate information about changing technical security issues e.g. Cloud-based and Cyber security matters is proven.

Effective interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal are a given.
