Purpose of this MI Developer Role:

  • The day to day management of workload assignment across the team as well as ensuring deliveries are robust and to agreed delivery dates
  • The coaching of the team (technical / non-technical) to ensure on-going personal development and engagement
  • The provision of MI, Reporting and Data throughout the business and to external partners, including supporting other team members and the department manager, and where necessary make recommendations to improve presentation and branding consistency
  • To complete and evidence full validation of MI and Reports to the core insurance systems ensuring accuracy, coupled with peer review of other developers validation and ensure recommendations for improvement are actioned
  • To take ownership of Data Quality and Accuracy control, ensuring a single version of the truth view through all MI and Reporting is adhered to and strict data governance and development frameworks are followed. This includes the creation and maintenance of appropriate data dictionaries and processes etc.
  • To develop necessary Data integrations, MI and Reports in conjunction with business and project needs using tools such as SQL (both on premises and in the cloud), SSRS, Cognos, Alteryx and Tableau

Experience required:

  • Previous team leadership experience with prioritising workload and team development
  • Robust and previous technical experience as a Lead MI developer using but not limited too - Tableau and Tableau Server, Ms SQL Server (latest versions) / T-SQL, SSRS
  • High degree of commercial / operational awareness of data
  • Experienced in working in a demanding, fast paced environment
  • Robust / up to date knowledge and experience of Technology and methods in the data space.
  • Robust experience of Cyber / Information / Data Security risks and how to ensure databases / information systems delivered are highly secure
  • The ability to communicate complex technical / data matters in a non-complex way
  • Technical Leadership skills with the ability in setting technical direction
