Senior Infrastructure Engineer

Position: Permanent

Location: Droitwich, Worcestershire

Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 (DOE)

Scope

Our Information Systems team creates and supports our web-based applications, both internal systems including the intranet, and a portfolio of global websites.

The Information Technology team manages our systems and technical resources, from desktop equipment and mobile devices up to network servers. Working closely with key support companies, they ensure a smooth delivery of all our IT services 24/7.

We need razor sharp, dynamic people with a passion for new technology and finding the best solutions.

Technical skills:

  • Cisco - Routing & Switching (implementation and administration)
  • Cisco Meraki - Wireless, switching, security
  • Cisco Umbrella - Cloud services
  • VMware - Cloud and platform virtualisation
  • Microsoft Technologies: (Knowledge & support of)
    • Windows Server
    • Active Directory
    • Office365
    • Windows 8, 10
  • Citrix - Xenapp (Knowledge & support of)

Responsibilities:

As part of Information Technology and Systems team you'll be helping to develop the infrastructure that keeps us at the cutting edge of our industry.

Primarily in this role you will be taking a leading stance on the Network infrastructure, designing implementing and supporting Cisco technologies, including the Meraki wireless services. You will be strong in your understanding of follow-up care for the technologies above, in order to support the organisation.

You will also take an active role in the development of procurement and IT vendor / consultancy relationships - Supporting in the acquisition of new equipment, costings, IT requirements based on current standards - Must be able to push back and consult with the business (If a 3rd party consultancy suggests new equipment, or services you will question those changes and find the right solutions in partnership with the IT Director)

Role will involve 1-2 days essential travel to travel around Europe as part of the project work requirements (Paris, Germany) - Costs will be covered by the company.
