Matthew Beesley

Head of Digital and Technical Transformation

What is it that fires your professional enthusiasm? Is it the scale of the challenge, and the real value to the public of the output you will be delivering?

If it is read on….

Information is the lifeblood of policing and because there's more to policing than fighting crime on the streets, we're working to deliver new and innovative technology which puts this opportunity right at the heart of protecting people from harm.

Heralding a new operating model and driven by considerable investment, we're now aiming to implement digital and technology services that introduce clear business thinking and best practice helping us deliver transformational policing outcomes.

We're already building a brand new control room, leveraging the synergies of sharing with Fire and Rescue Service, we're investing in new leading edge technology putting information right into the hands of our frontline officers with mobile technology, building on the success of ANPR technology and Body Worn Video devices to make policing both faster and safer.

This is the start of a significant journey and therefore with much more potential to realise, this is where you come in!

We are looking for a Head of Digital and Technical Transformation with the right experience and drive to both influence and deliver digital enablement which can shape the future of policing, while consolidating your skills and experience in a rewarding environment.

About you

Naturally you're an exceptional leader, with a proven track record of leading and transitioning the maturity level of a broad, multi-faceted Digital Services/ Technology function in a large, complex (ideally regulated) organisation.

This is a senior role and you will able to work credibly at a strategic level translating high level policing and corporate objectives into workable plans, organisational structures, technology solutions and new ways of working. Strong communications and influencing skills are therefore a given.

For this you will be given relative freedom to determine how and when results are achieved, setting agendas for those within your team to deliver outcomes that align with operating plans and objectives with the wider needs of both organisations.
